This series of "Mobius studies" is the culmination of twenty years of experimenting with ceramic sculpture and exploring the concept of change. In my early work, I focused on the avoidance of the unknown that often accompanies change, using color and negative space within chaotic arrangements of tangled clay strips to articulate that uncertainty.
Over time, these pieces have evolved into simpler forms, using the Mobius strip as a visual metaphor for continual movement, repetition and flow.
